Ministry of Economy
The Ministry of Economy of the Irad Special Economic Zone shapes economic policy, keeps the Register of Firms, issues trade licences, sets the quota for foreign workers and directs the State Tax Service, the Territorial Statistics Office, Iradstandart and the Public Procurement Department. It reports to the Governor.

Ahead of the State Anti-Inflation Programme, observers of the ministry and the Statistics Office record the prices of fourteen staple goods every Wednesday at Bazar-i Kalan and Jıldız Market in Talas, the Central Market in Nurzhan and the Lower Town bazaar in Iyık Janyl.
Under Executive Directive 2026/24 an extract from the Register of Firms is issued only on showing the slip of the business census. The slip is given by the enumerator or at the Statistics Office.
Employers apply for the 2027 quota in the first working week of January (4 to 8 January 2027), in room 15 of the Government House annex.
